During my time studying abroad at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC I studied the class Photographic Styling. This course allowed me to really understand the importance of all factors within styling, such as the use of lighting, props and finding the perfect model. 

 

The shoot below was inspired by the S/S15 catwalk collections. We studied the key trends emerging from these shows and then styled and created our own shoot. We  chose to focus on the revival of the 70's trend. Everything from flares to tassels were appearing in a lot of designers collections which really encouraged us to use these trends within our shoot. 

 

We chose to shoot in the West Village of New York as we thought the  backdrop of a record store would work hand in hand with our styling choices. We also loved how our model would be able to use the chairs and records outside the store as props.
